A Pirate's Life 4 Us is a little piece of our world — a place for the things we make, the things we're learning, and the adventures we find ourselves on along the way.

We're a creative little family with a habit of following our curiosity. We make art and jewelry, forage for wild things, grow and study herbs, read piles of books, learn about animals and the natural world, write stories, make things with our hands, and generally believe that most interesting questions are worth following.

We homeschool, but learning around here tends to spill into everything. A walk in the woods becomes a nature study. An interesting plant sends us down a research rabbit hole. A drawing becomes a book. A handful of beads becomes a tiny business. And sometimes an ordinary Tuesday turns into an adventure we never planned.

This site is where we gather all those pieces.

Part art studio, part field journal, part family archive, and part very small shop.

It's a record of what happens when you stay curious, make things often, spend a lot of time outside, and aren't terribly concerned with following the usual map.
